The three days Tactical Trauma Life Support (TTLS) is a highly intensive course that is developed to help combat medics, paramedics, nurses and doctors dealing with trauma in a tactical situation. The course has been taught to the Norwegian Army and Portuguese Police etc.
TTLS use Hyper-Realistic simulation to make the course as realistic as possible. TTLS course provides a tactical pre-hospital trauma care philosophy, stressing the need to treat the multi system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. This may require an approach to the trauma patient that varies from traditional treatment modalities. The difference between TTLS and other pre-hospital trauma course is the knowledge taught in the TTLS course has been learnt in the streets of Baghdad, Iraq and the green zone in Afghanistan, where the traditional approach to pre-hospital trauma patient does not work.
This course is a must for anyone who works in a place where you might be dealing with multi trauma patients. Needless to say, this course is especially useful for close protection operatives who could be dealing with multi trauma in their line of work.
To be able to enter this course, students must be minimum FPOS-I or EMT-B. And demonstrated competency is achieved through a written exam and team practical testing.
Students who successfully pass this course will be given an TTLS certificate with accreditation from the University of Pecs, Hungary, The Department of Operational Medicine and Military, Disaster and Law Enforcement Medicine.
